Praise To God Who Holds The Future

Scripture

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.-Romans 15:13

Observation

We certainly live during anxious times. If we are not careful, our anxiety escalates into fear. If our distress morphs into despair, we are one step away from apathy.

But piercing through this cultural upheaval, God gives us a different lens to see the world. We are not oblivious to the brokenness of the world or drenched with unrealistic optimism. We get our dignity, identity, meaning and purpose from the One whose words appear in Red, Jesus the Christ. Therefore, our worldview is not tainted and distorted by fear, anxiety, distress and apathy. Our Spirit-led worldview is best illustrated by peace, courage, passion, and perseverance. Ultimately ,individuals who seek an inspired purpose are those who live by hope.

The Apostle Paul says there are three anchors for your life. Most Christians frequently discuss the power of faith and love. Few explore the power of hope.

Hope does not see the world as it is, hope sees the world as God intended from the beginning. Hope is not paralyzed by our past failures and tragedies; hope emerges from our dreams of who God is forming us to become. Hope is a well spring of joy & peace—the ultimate sign of human flourishing.

Prayer

O Creator of all things, you are the Alpha & Omega. We cast our fears and concerns on to your throne. For You are faithful and promised that You will never forsake us. So today with a heart full of praise, we give You thanks. In the midst of uncertainly, You give us peace surrounding our future. We are not shackled by our fears. For You give us courage to move forward. By Your great power and love, we pursue our future with great anticipation.

May we not we be swayed by the Evil One. His deception leads us to an apathetic life. We want to join You in your redemptive work to bring hope to the hopeless, bring light to the darkness, bring peace to the restless, and extend love and compassion to all in our path.  May You be exalted in this city!
