Those Battling Incurable Diseases

Scripture

Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died” …Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies….” -John 11:21-26

Observation

Facing our own or a loved one’s terminal diagnosis, we believe in the power of God to heal. Are we willing to trust Him if He does not heal. When He simply walks with us through the valley? Can we believe that in His wisdom and will there is yet a blessing when we find no answer to the “Why” question?

Prayer

Father, comfort and strengthen those facing incurable diseases. We know Your power; help us trust Your love. Knowing all our lives are simply short-lived mists, teach us to number our days, living in wisdom and trust, and honoring You in all we are. In You, we look forward to the life that will take us beyond this realm of suffering and pain to Your marvelous grace and comfort. Through the name of Him who gives us this hope, Jesus, Amen.
