Day 13 – Oct. 13

“Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord.” -Leviticus 19:30

Our nursing homes can be such a lonely place. Many of the residents feel abandoned and neglected and the staff overwhelmed. As Gods people we must stand in the gap with prayer and support.

Father we lift up those in the nursing home today. Bless their days with peace and their nights with rest. Fill their hearts with the warmth of Your presence. Surround them with kindness from caregivers and visitors and let them never feel alone. Remind them that they are loved and let Your joy find its way into every room. And we pray for the staff that patience and compassion will guide each step of their day.
