Thankful For the Avenue of Prayer
Scripture
“…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6
Observation
In the context of being light in a world of darkness, there are struggles without and within that can easily turn to worries, despair, and hopelessness. The Holy Spirit, speaking through Paul, tells us to not be anxious, but realize that God’s peace is just a prayer away.
Prayer
Holy Father, God who created this world by speaking it into existence and sustaining it every moment by your grace and glory, we are amazed that you have told us to seek you and speak to you. For this we are grateful! This fallen world is so much upon us that we get discouraged and anxious for the things that we can’t control, and we despair. Forgive us for our lack of faith and fortify us with a vision of your work of healing and hope as modeled by Jesus Christ and affirmed in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. This day we rededicate ourselves, to the task of being ministers of reconciliation and instruments of your peace. All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
